Italian cutting-edge healthcare products in Dubai

An important entirely Italian Treatment and Rehabilitation center was inaugurated at the Thumbay private hospital compound in the Emirate of Ajman, north of Dubai, in the presence of Italy’s Ambassador to the Emirates, Liborio Stellino, Italy’s Consul General in Dubai, Valentina Setta, and the Senior Healthcare Officials of Dubai.

The Treatment and Rehabilitation Center will be run by the prominent Villa Beretta-Valduce Hospital based in Lecco. The facility, equipped with state-of-the-art Italian technology, will be staffed by qualified personnel of the Lombard hospital who will periodically be on missions in Ajman. The establishment of the rehabilitation center was decided after several visits to Italy by the manager of the Thumbay Hospital and his staff, where they viewed machinery and received information about the wide range of technologies and treatments. From those, they selected those that they needed to import. The inauguration was also the occasion for a study day, attended by the top officials of the Healthcare Authority of Dubai, organised by the doctors of the Valduce Hospital and addressed to the medical and paramedical staff engaged in the United Arab Emirates in rehabilitation treatment. As evidence of the huge ‘market’ that the Emirates represent for Italian healthcare, an agreement was signed a few weeks ago between the owner of the giant NMC Healthcare, the Indian tycoon Shetty, and the San Donato-San Raffaele group for the exchange of dental professionals in the UAE and in India. Indeed, the UAE is no longer an exporter of patients to other countries. It is now a dispenser of healthcare not only for its residents, but also for people from neighboring countries. Italian health professionals continue to be the fundamental vehicle for making available in the Emirates the cutting-edge products of our biomedical industry.
