An Italian appointed president of the Immunological Society in Prague

Luca Vannucci, an Italian oncologist and immunologist, has been appointed president of the Czech Immunological Society, one of the leading research institutions in the Czech Republic. Since its founding in 1973 by Professor Jan Sterzl, this is the first time that the president of the Immunological Society is not Czech. For the occasion, the Italian Embassy in Prague convened Italian scientists and researchers working in the Country at the Institute of Culture in order to exchange information and launch future forms of collaboration. The initiative is one of the events promoted by Italian institutions since last April. On that occasion of the first Research Day organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the first database of Italian scientists and researchers working in the Czech territory was presented at the Embassy. In fact, the database was created with the aim of providing scientists and researchers with an instrument that is useful for their work, for contact purposes and for cooperation among the various departments and with the Czech institutions that host our fellow countrymen.
