Israel: a two-day event for companies from Southern Italy

A two-day event was held in Israel for 18 companies, start-ups, universities and incubators from 5 Regions of Southern Italy. The event, organised by the ICE Agency in partnership with the Italian Embassy in Israel, was held as part of the Piano Export Sud, financed by the European Commission within the framework of ‘PON Imprese e Competitività’ national operational plan for 2014-2020. Of particular significance was the participation of companies and agencies from the Campania Region, accompanied by the Regional Councillor for Innovation, Start-ups and Internationalisation, Valeria Fascione.

After a first training session with presentations by two key Israeli technology know-how and scouting agencies for new technology companies – The Israel Advanced Technology Industries (IATI) and the Israel Innovation Authority (IIA) – the event scheduled more than 120 B2B meetings with potential local partners, also with a view to establishing partnerships in order to participate in the tenders envisaged in the Italy-Israel Industrial, Scientific and Technology Cooperation Agreement or by the EU Horizon 2020 platform. For many start-ups, it represented an opportunity to evaluate the advantages of participating in the tender for the mobility of young start-ups in Israel promoted by the Italian Embassy.

The Italian delegation also had the opportunity of meeting with the representatives of the Technology Transfer of the Technion and of the University of Haifa, in addition to visiting the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation.
