Italian National Sports Day 2019 is celebrated across the world

Following the agreement signed last year between the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) and the Farnesina, the National Sports Day will be celebrated, on 2nd June, also by Italian communities living abroad. There will be an active participation of Italian expats in
Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, Canada, United States, Switzerland and Venezuela, where numerous sports events have been planned in conjunction with the Italian diplomatic and consular network.

The 2019  National Sports Day will see the participation of Italian nationals and foreigners in events meant to raise awareness on physical and mental health related to sports practices, as well on the importance of healthy dietary habits which are represented by the Mediterranean Diet.

Among the initiatives, there will be a race to pay homage to Italy -‘Corsa Italianorio 2019’- to take place, for the first time, in Rio de Janeiro’s old town. The race has been organised by the Italian Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro and will be followed by events celebrating Italy’s Republic Day. More sports events have been scheduled in June, among which the “Coppa di calcio delle Regioni Italiane a Vancouver” – the football award of Italian regions in Vancouver- organised by the Consulate General of Italy in Vancouver, in cooperation with CONI.
