The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), Ambassador Elisabetta Belloni, opened the “Conference of Rectors of African Universities” hosted at the Farnesina with a greeting addressed to the heads of higher education and research institutions of 19 African Countries before their departure to Teramo to attend the “Gran Sasso International Forum”.
The Conference, organised by ICCROM with the sponsorship of the MAECI as part of the Gran Sasso Forum, was structured into several thematic sessions on the “Protection of cultural and natural heritage: current and new professions” and will represent an important forum for the African academicians to debate and exchange experiences and reflect on the policies enacted.
The Italian development cooperation service has always supported the institutions and agencies of Beneficiary Countries in programming and implementing adequate training policies through partnerships and collaborations with major Italian universities.
The conclusions to the Gran Sasso International Forum, scheduled for Saturday, 22 June, will be drawn by the MAECI Director General for Development Cooperation, Giorgio Marrapodi.
