Bucharest: Nicola Piovani in concert with film music

Maestro Nicola Piovani made it a point to conclude his concert in Bucharest with the 1999 best soundtrack Oscar-winning theme of ”La vita e’ bella” (“Life is Beautiful”). Organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in partnership with the Italian Embassy in Romania, the “Italy in the Energy of Music” concert was held at the Auditorium of the National Art Museum of Bucharest. Piovani offered a musical narration with the accompaniment of piano, double bass, percussions, saxophone, clarinet, guitar, cello and accordion, in which the music perfectly integrated with the images drawn from the most famous films of the history of Italian cinema such as: ”Intervista” and ”Ginger and Fred” by Federico Fellini, ”Speriamo che sia femmina” (“Let’s Hope it’s a Girl”) and ”Il Marchese del Grillo” by Mario Monicelli. At the event, Italian Ambassador Marco Giungi presented Piovani with the ”Leonardo the Immortal Light 2019” award for music and the President of Ducati Energia Romania, Guidalberto Guidi, with the ”Leonardo the Immortal Light 2019” award for energy engineering, assigned to him by the Committee for UNICEF of Florence.
