IIC Prague: the “100 Vico Magistretti” exhibition

After the closure due to Coronavirus, the Italian Cultural Institute in Prague reopens to the public with an exhibition dedicated to Vico Magistretti in the Baroque Chapel of the Institute.

100 Vico Magistretti, organised by the Institute in collaboration with the Italian Embassy and the Magistretti Foundation, and under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great architect and designer.

The exhibition, curated by Rosanna Pavoni and Margherita Pellino, in the installation by architect Ottaviano Maria Razetto, tells the story of Magistretti’s work and figure through sketches, drawings, photographs and projects. The exhibition also presents numerous objects designed by Magistretti for Cassina, DePadova, Oluce, Kartell, Artemide, which over time have become authentic icons of Italian design. Among them, the Silver chair and the Vidun coffee table by DePadova; the Maui chair by Kartell; the Maralunga sofa, the chair 905, the Nuvola rossa bookcase by Cassina; the Atollo lamp by Oluce; the Eclisse lamp by Artemide.

The entrance to the exhibition, open until May 28th, Monday to Friday from 10 am to 2 pm, is free upon reservation by email (iicpraga@esteri.it) o telephone (+ 420 257090681).
