On 7 September in Toronto, at the presentation of the novel ‘Tuscan Daughter’ by Lisa Rochon, organised by the Italian Cultural Institute of Toronto, the focus will be on Florence in the 1500s and the artists who made it great: Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Botticelli. Written by award-winning architecture critic Lisa Rochon, the book is listed as one of the 10 best literary works in Canada. It tells the story of a young peasant woman who enters the city in search of her lost mother but has to deal with the violence, political intrigues and jealousies of great artists such as Michelangelo and Leonardo. During the presentation the Italian actress Carlotta Brentan will read some extracts.
