The Italian Cultural Institute in Copenhagen is dedicating an evening to Sicily, to talk about Sicilian art, poetry and way of life.
Organised by “Højskolen på Sicilien”, the event scheduled for 6 September will be held in Danish. Tine Kragh, art historian, artist and head of the Sicilian High School, will talk about Sicily’s culture and treasures. Martin Herbst will talk about the enormous importance of the Sicilian tradition in poetry and culture. Cecilie Marie Meyer, author of a book on the Mezzogiorno, will talk about the mentality of Sicily and southern Italy. Last but not least, Ulla Meucci, teacher, artist and ceramist, who has lived in Sicily for 25 years, will illustrate the traditions of the island, including Christmas customs.
