The Embassy of Italy in Manama, in collaboration with BACA, presents the exhibition “DIVA! Italian Glamour in Fashion Jewellery” which will be on show at the National Museum of the Kingdom of Bahrain from 17 November – when it will be inaugurated by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Marina Sereni – until 11 December 2021.

Curated by Alba Cappellieri, Milan Polytechnic Professor and Director of the Vicenza Jewellery Museum, the exhibition will exhibit a repertoire of more than 200 pieces of Italian jewellery, going back over the years that began with La Dolce Vita, passing through the Pret-a- Porter of the 1980s, the minimalism of the 1990s, and arriving at the neo-baroque of the new millennium.

Thus the exhibition recounts the story of Italian fashion jewellery and pays homage to Italian creativity and manufacturing, art, technology, beauty, and innovation.

Additionally, at 10:30 on 08 November, at the “Grazia Deledda” Centre of Italian Culture at the Royal University for Women, there will be a lecture entitled: “Italian Fashion Jewellery” dealing with the jewellery sector in Italy. This will be given by the designer and illustrator Dr. Susanna Testa, PhD in Design and Assistant Professor at the Design Department of the Politecnico di Milano.
