In the framework of the Embassy of Italy promotional activity in Tanzania, three Italian designers participated to the Swahili Fashion Week, held in Dar es Salaam from 3 to 5 of December, 2021. It is the most important fashion event in Africa after Johannesburg fashion week.
More than 90 designers worldwide joined the event. On the occasion, the Italian fashion brands Vitelli, Endelea and Florania showcased their collections.
On December 7, 2021 Italian Trade Commission, in cooperation with Park Hyatt, 361 Africa and Wakapedia, organized in the iconic Beach House in Stonetown the event “Italian Cuisine week: experience Italian culture, food and fashion” that had the goal to promote Italian culture cuisine and fashion in Zanzibar.
The three Italian brands and the Tanzanian Njija presented their collections. Minister for Investments of Zanzibar, Hon. Mudrik Soraga attended the event. Ambassador Lombardi stressed that Italian promotional activities have to continue also because of the good answer of Tanzanian public towards Italian excellences. Italian efforts, he continued, must be undertaken also in consideration of the fact that Tanzanian population has an age between 12 and 25 years old and it will grow from the actual 60 to 120 million in the next twenty years.
