On the occasion of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Italian Cultural Institute in Lyon organised an online meeting with author Edith Bruck, whose book Il Pane Perduto (The Lost Bread) – which describes her deportation to Auschwitz – has just been translated into French.

The webinar was attended, aside from the author, by René De Ceccatty, who translated the book, and Myriam Anissimov, biographer of Primo Levi. The meeting was followed by the screening of Paola Toscano’s documentary film Gli sci di Primo Levi (The skis of Primo Levi), a portrayal of the writer who changed the historical perspective of the history of the Shoah through a profound reflection on the ethics of memory and of bearing testimony.
