The conference “The social re-use of assets seized from organised crime: an opportunity for society and State” took place on 5 April at the Faculty of Law, University of Buenos Aires, following the initiative of four Italian and Argentinian organisations: Libera. Associazioni, nomi e numeri contro le mafie; Circolo Giuridico di Argentina; Asociación Civil por la Igualdad y la Justicia (ACIJ) and Fundación Multipolar. The event was part of the “Bien Restituido” project, funded by the Delegation of the European Union in Argentina and co-funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, through the IILA (International Italian-Latin American Organisation).
Speakers included Paola Di Nicola Travaglini, Italian magistrate, Advisor of the Court of Cassation; Aida Lucia Teresa Tarditti, Argentinian magistrate, member of the Supreme Court of Justice of Córdoba; don Luigi Ciotti, President of Libera; Francesco Menditto, Attorney-General of the Republic at the Court of Tivoli and member of the Steering Committee of the National Agency for the Administration and Use of Assets seized from Italian Organised Crime (ANBSC).
