The Italian Cultural Institute in Pretoria, in partnership with the Prue Leith Culinary Institute, launched the project titled “A tavola!” (“Lunch is Ready!”). The initiative consists in a one-week course from 3 to 7 October scheduling Italian language courses in the morning followed by cooking classes by Chefs from ALMA, the Parma-based International School of Italian Cuisine, in the afternoon.
Every language and cooking class will concentrate on a specific part of classical Italian menus. The Italian language course, which will be held at the Prue Leith Culinary Institute, will focus on professional culinary terms useful in cooking, while classes on how to make Italian regional specialties will be hosted the kitchens of the Culinary Institute. Every day, the lesson will close with a taste of the dishes prepared in class accompanied with a glass of Italian wine.
