On 13 January, as part of the first cultural activities in 2023, the Italian Cultural Institute of Lima offers a guided tour through the exhibitions In the land, Sicilia, il mondo in un’isola and The upcoming Polar Silk Road.
In the land is a sculpture exhibition curated by Giacomo Rizzo featuring works made from disused materials and urban waste recovered after meticulous research and selection. Sicilia, il mondo in un’isola (curated by the director of the Institute, Silvia Vallini) offers an itinerary of images created by local photographers who have portrayed the Italian territory through their vision. Finally, The upcoming Polar Silk Road, a project by the young visual artist Elena Mazzi, winner of the “Cantica21” contest organised by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, features a nine-minute video installation and a number of symbolic maps focusing on the themes of global warming and the melting of Arctic glaciers.
