On 20 January, the Italian Cultural Institute of Lisbon is presenting L’eredità di Ennio Morricone (Ennio Morricone’s Legacy) – a dialogue with Marco Morricone, the Maestro’s son, and pianist and composer Filipe Melo – in preparation for the debut in Portuguese cinemas of the documentary Ennio: The Maestro.
The initiative has been organised by RISI Film in collaboration with Lisbon’s Sala de Âmbito Cultural del Corte Inglés, with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute of Lisbon.
The documentary, which was presented at the Venice Film Festival, is a profound portrait of Maestro Ennio Morricone – who composed and wrote unforgettable soundtracks – through a long interview by director Giuseppe Tornatore and testimonies by directors and musicians such as Bernardo Bertolucci, Marco Bellocchio, Dario Argento, Quentin Tarantino, Wong Kar-wai, Bruce Springsteen, John Williams, Hans Zimmer and others.
