Italy presented in Harare, Zimbabwe, the 40th edition of the International trade fair for the fruit and vegetable sector scheduled to be held at the Rimini Expo Centre from 3 to 5 May. Italian Ambassador Umberto Malnati attended the presentation, along with the regional director of ICE – Agency, Antonella Marucci, and the regional director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), Paolo Enrico Sertoli.
For the Zimbabwean government, the presentation was attended by the Minister of Agriculture, Anxious Masuka, and the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Sekai Nzenza, as well as some 90 operators of the sector, representatives of associations and banking institutions. The event is organised in collaboration with ZIMITA, the association that promotes the cooperation between Zimbabwe and Italy. As was the case in the last two editions of the Fair, Zimbabwe will also participate in the 2023 edition with a large delegation of companies. Operators from the African state – producer of blueberries, avocados, tropical fruit and horticultural crops – are mainly interested in purchasing technologies to develop their productions for regional and national markets.
