The Italian Ambassador in Bosnia Herzegovina – Marco Di Ruzza – launched the 2023 edition of “Insieme” – the Festival of the Italian Culture – organised in partnership with the Italian Association of Banja Luka. This year’s programme, rich of events, opened yesterday at the Banja Luka Theatre with the “Viva Vivaldi” concert, directed by conductor Dusan Urosevic and performed by the “Ban Svetislav Tisa Milosavljevic” string orchestra and the “Cherubini” choir.

The Italian Association of Banja Luka collects the descendants of the Triveneto families who lived to Bosnia-Herzegovina after 1878, following the fall of their territory under the Hapsburg domination. “The commitment and dynamism of the Italian Association of Banja Luka” – stated Italian Ambassador Di Ruzza – “reminds us of the deeply rooted and ancient Italian presence in Bosnia-Herzegovina: a community that perfectly adapted and integrated into the local fabric, providing a significant contribution to the Country’s economic and social growth while maintaining a fertile relationship with Italy and their region of origin”. “Sponsoring this Festival – the Ambassador continued – is a sign of the importance of cultural diplomacy, and a fundamental instrument to strengthen the connections between our two Countries and foster reconciliation processes with a view to full European integration”.

The Mayor of Banja Luka – Drasko Stanivukovic – also attended yesterday’s concert.
