Atene, incontro su “Ipazia tra mito e storia”

The eclectic figure of the Greek philosopher and mathematician Hypatia will be at the centre of a meeting in Athens on 26 April organised by the Italian Cultural Institute. The event is entitled “Hypatia between myth and history”, and is organised in collaboration with the Research Centre on Greek Philosophy of the Athens Academy (K.E.E.F.).

The meeting, which will be held in the premises of the “Parnassos” Literary Association, will be attended by Silvia Ronchey from the University of Roma Tre, author of the book Ipazia: la vera storia (ed. Bur 2011), and two K.E.E.F. researchers, namely Evi Delli and Maria Protopapas-Marneli.

During the event – which can also be attended online on the Zoom platform – written translations will be provided, in Greek and Italian, of the speakers’ speeches and consecutive translation of the discussion that will follow.
