From 5 May to 24 June 2023, the exhibition spaces of the Italian Cultural Institute of Madrid will host the prestigious exhibition “Art Factor – The Pop Legacy in Post-War Italian Art”, a project inaugurated by BFF in 2020. Through a selection of works from the contemporary art collection started by the Group in the 1980s, the exhibition presents a story that combines entrepreneurial spirit and a focus on culture and art. The event – the fourth stage of a travelling exhibition in Europe – is organised under the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Spain.
The works on display narrate an Italian journey through Pop Art with works by Valerio Adami, Franco Angeli, Enrico Baj, Lucio Del Pezzo, Gianfranco Pardi, Mario Schifano and Emilio Tadini. Through a perspective of dialogue and continuity, the exhibition seeks to provide a complex and multifaceted overview of Italian art since the 1960s, in which authors from different generations have contributed to the redefinition of an artistic identity with their own poetics. The exhibition leads to a re-reading and an interpretation of an international language that is still highly innovative and subversive.
