The opening ceremony of the Italian Pavillion at the Smart China Expo 2023 was held at the Yuelai International Conference and Exhibition Center in Chongqing. The 242-square-metre exhibition space, jointly curated by the Italian Consulate General in Chongqing and the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, houses 11 Italian businesses operating in China, representing the high technological level of the Italian industry.
Fabio Schina, the Italian Consul General in Chongqing, attended the event and underlined his delight for the participation of Italy in this important exhibition. “The Smart China Expo is undoubtfully a crucial stage in the field of innovation and hi-tech, among the priority fields of Italian-Chinese cooperation, not only as far as the South-West region is concerned, but at the national level too” stated Schina, who started his mandate in Chongqing on 28 August.
“The Smart China Expo is a valuable opportunity to give the utmost visibility to our businesses operating in the South-Western region of China or to those willing to explore the opportunities provided by this dynamic area”, said Paolo Bazzoni, Chairman of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce. The latter also recalled the CCIC’s commitment to providing input to Italian investments in the region.
The inauguration event saw the participation of other local authorities, who praised the Italian-Chinese relations in science and tech innovation.
