The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Riccardo Guariglia, the Italian Ambassador to India, Vincenzo de Luca, and the Consul General, Alfonso Tagliaferri, – attended the opening of the new Consulate General of Italy in Bengaluru.

The new Italian diplomatic venue will have consular jurisdiction in the Southeastern region of India. It will assist the Italian community living or transiting into the area and the businesses willing to access the vast and rising Indian market. The office will also be a cultural, academic and scientific hub in Bengaluru, considered the Indian “Silicon Valley”. Finally, the Consulate will process 20-30 thousand visa procedures annually.

The Consulate offices, located in the city centre, also house the local headquarters of the Italian Trade Agency – ICE, the Chamber of Commerce and Uni-Italia.
