The Italian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Claudio Taffuri, visited the Mingachevir combined cycle power plant together with Ansaldo Energia CEO Fabrizio Fabbri and Azerenerji President Baba Rzayev.
After checking the status of works relating to the installation of the two gas turbines supplied by Ansaldo Energia last year, on the basis of the agreement signed by the Italian company with Azerenerji on 12 December 2022, Ambassador Taffuri took part in the working meeting between CEO Fabbri and Azerenerji President Rzayev, who agreed on the need to ensure a definite timeframe for the delivery of the two remaining gas turbines, which are required to complete the works by early 2025.
During the meeting Azerenerji also expressed its interest in using Ansaldo’s technology for the planned construction of five additional new plants over the next few years.
