Rai Italia is expanding its offer in France, a country with a large and varied Italian community interested in the vicissitudes of its Country of origin. At the Italian Embassy in Paris – before the Italian Ambassador Emanuela D’Alessandro, members of the Italian community representing different associations and the cultural, research and business worlds, and the French and Italian media – a number of initiatives and highlights from the Italian channel’s programme schedule distributed worldwide by Rai Com were presented, including “Che Classe!”, the Italian language course created with the Italian cultural institution Treccani.
“I am very pleased to host Rai Italia’s press conference at the Embassy: as Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tajani stated, Rai is the perfect instrument to raise awareness about Italy, to promote the country, its products, and its culture. Given that France hosts a very important Italian community – the sixth largest in the world, counting almost half a million Aire members – and given the very “special” interest and enthusiasm that the French public has always reserved for Italy, today’s press conference is extremely relevant”.
Rai’s reach is truly vast and, today, the channel can be seen in over 40 million homes connected through satellite, cable, IPTV and OTT platforms on all continents. Its worldwide audience amounts to over seven million Italians (registered with Aire) living and working abroad, around eighty million oriundi and two hundred and fifty million Italics. These numbers guarantee the validity of the project and fully meet Rai’s objectives.
