The Italian Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Maria Tripodi, attended the meeting of the Foreign Investment Attraction Committee (CAIE), held today at the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy.
After two years of inactivity, the first meeting of the CAIE was an important opportunity to confirm the cooperation between the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT), and the other institutional actors involved in the governance of foreign investment attraction.
On this occasion, the Undersecretary highlighted the importance of the activities of Italian Embassies and Consulates around the world, which, together with the dedicated desks of the Italian Trade Agency – ICE, promote investment opportunities in Italy in a structured and systematic manner. Moreover, she reiterated the need for industrial policy and foreign policy to proceed in close coordination, so that Italy can attract investment in the most strategic sectors.
In conclusion, Undersecretary Tripodi emphasised the importance of cooperation between the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Ministry of Made in Italy, calling for the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in September 2020 between MAECI, MIMIT, ICE and Invitalia.
