Italian Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs Maria Tripodi’s visit to Copenhagen took place today, as part of a dynamic plan of cooperation and common goals between Italy and Denmark.
In view of the promising prospects opening up also thanks to the complementarity between companies and universities of the two countries, Undersecretary Tripodi conducted a series of meetings with local authorities from which shared approaches in many of the common priority dossiers emerged.
Tripodi reaffirmed the Italian government’s commitment to implementing the plans outlined in the national NRRP with her counterpart at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lina Gandløse Hansen, the Danish Undersecretary for Industry, Michael Dithmer, and the Director for Trade and Foreign Investment at Dansk Industri, Peter Thagelsen. The Undersecretary focused on the potential of existing collaborations between Italian and Danish universities in the fields of renewable energy, biotechnology and green shipping. She also emphasised the priority commitment to sustainability in all sectors, including the new architecture of cities and services.
The message, shared by the Danish representatives, regarding the Italian agenda for the next G7, the partnership with Africa that Italy wants to keep in the foreground, and the relevance of relations with Latin America, in order to foster the fight against the current crises and a network of prosperous relations for Europe, was also important.
In this context, the Undersecretary mentioned Rome’s candidacy to host EXPO 2030, highlighting its strong potential in terms of innovation and for the economy.
