On the 300th anniversary of the death of Jan Blažej Santini Aichel (1677-1723), the great Czech Baroque architect of Italian origin, the Italian Cultural Institute of Prague organised the conference “Un mistero chiamato Santini, 300 anni dopo” (A Mystery Called Santini, 300 Years Later). The event was held in the Institute’s Baroque Chapel and featured talks by scholars and journalists such as Flavio R.G. Mela, Andreas Pieralli, Michael and Radmila Iblovi and Johana Bronková.

The conference was addressed by the Italian Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Mauro Marsili, and the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute, Vito De Bellis. At the end of the meeting, the photographic exhibition of the same name was inaugurated, set up in collaboration with the cultural association Putování za Santinim, consisting of 41 artistic black-and-white photographs divided into two thematic groups: the first, exhibited in the Chapter House of the Institute, by photographer Václav Kunc, and the second, in the Baroque Chapel, by members of the Fotoklub Vysočina. The exhibition will be open to the public from 17 to 24 November, with free admission.
