Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani opens at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Farnesina) the launch event of the Imola sports calendar for the 2025 season titled “Imola and Made in Italy: where sport, engines and music meet the world”.
The sports sector is an important economic engine for Italy. In terms of exports, the sector is worth €7 billion, placing Italy in fourth place at EU level for exports of sports products worldwide, with 8.1% of the European share.
Imola and the motor valley bring together industrial, sporting and engineering excellence that the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its diplomatic-consular network are committed to showcasing and promoting around the world.
The event is organised by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation with the Municipality of Imola and is part of the sports diplomacy initiatives aimed at promoting Italy and its territories through sport. The initiative also aims to promote the entire Motor Valley sector and the production districts connected to it.
Participants at the event will include the President of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) Matteo Zoppas, the Mayor of Imola Marco Panieri, the coordinator of the Sports Policies of the Emilia-Romagna Region Giammaria Manghi, and the Director of the Imola Autodrome Pietro Benvenuti.
