Di Stefano at the Web Marketing Festival: investing on internationalisation and digitisation

This morning, Deputy Minister Manlio Di Stefano attended the Web Marketing Festival, an event on digital and social innovation, speaking on digitisation and internationalisation.

“Since before this crisis – the Deputy Minister said – Italy was lagging behind in digitisation. This pandemic has made it ever more urgent to bridge the delay”.

On the prospects of digitisation, the Deputy Minister pointed out that “export is the backup that allows the country to grow while the domestic market is at a standstill, and accounts for 1/3 of our GDP. In recent months we have developed two lines of action: simplification, by ensuring that the Foreign Ministry acts as the sole channel for the internationalisation of enterprises, and providing subsidised loans, by expanding the 394/81 Fund, thanks to which all businesses can invest in internationalisation and digitisation projects”.

Regarding future prospects, the Deputy Minister stressed that “hydrogen, blockchain, cloud, startups, are the sectors where Italy and Europe must invest and can excel at global level, in order not to be caught between the economic and technological conflict between Asia and America”.
