Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs Giorgio Silli met today in Rome with Luis Alberto Jaramillo, Minister of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries of Ecuador.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation across all sectors of mutual interest, starting with the economic sphere, with particular focus on energy, critical minerals and defense, as well as opportunities in tourism and investment.
Ecuador continues to be a key partner for Italy in Latin America, with bilateral trade consistently exceeding one billion euros. Highlighting the strength of economic and commercial relations, also supported by a dynamic Italian business community in the country, Undersecretary Silli stated:
“Despite significant progress, substantial growth potential remains. Italian exports to Ecuador have doubled from 2018 to 2024 (from EUR 241 million to EUR 480 million), while local demand continues to expand”.
