“We are working tirelessly to assist our fellow citizens stranded in the Middle East. To respond to the ongoing emergency, together with the Italian Embassies in the region and in collaboration with local authorities, we are facilitating several return flights for Italians from the Middle East region,” Minister Tajani stated.
The following flights are scheduled for today, March 3:
- two special commercial flights from Muscat (Oman) to Rome Fiumicino, for a total of approximately 300 people;
- a flight from Abu Dhabi to Milan carrying approximately 200 people, including students, mostly minors, from the World Students’ Connection in Dubai. The group is already at Abu Dhabi airport and is being assisted by staff from the Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai;
- two additional Etihad flights from Abu Dhabi to Italy, one at 2:20 PM to Milan and the other at 2:40 PM to Rome. The flights are intended to rebook passengers who could not leave earlier with the airline.
For tomorrow, March 4, an additional flight from Muscat, Oman, has been scheduled.
A bus transfer system has been set up from the United Arab Emirates to Oman: the first transfers are already underway. Transfer instructions are being sent to those in the UAE who are registered on the “Viaggiare Sicuri” app or on the website www.dovesiamonelmondo.it
A similar system is being set up from Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar to Saudi Arabia.
