Today, March 16, 2026, the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo launches a call for expressions of interest for the position of curator for an initiative to be implemented as part of “IT Out OFF – Egypt,” a project aimed at promoting contemporary Italian art and connected to the Alexandria Biennale, which is resuming its activities after 12 years.
“IT Out OFF – Egypt” is part of the broader “IT Out OFF” programme for the internationalization of Italian art, conceived in 2022 by the Ministry of Culture and the Foreign Ministry. The program is currently being implemented by the Ministry of Culture’s Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity and the Directorate General for Growth and Export Promotion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the network of Italian Cultural Institutes abroad.
The “IT Out OFF” programme promotes Italian artists and curators (or those operating in Italy) at major international events through “off” (parallel or collateral) events. It is also part of the activities planned by the Ministry of Culture’s Mission Unit for Cultural Cooperation with African and Mediterranean Countries.
