Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Vice-President of the Italo-Latin American Institute (IILA) Mario Giro hailed the election of Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala Stephanie Hochstetter Skinner-Klée as IILA President, succeeding Mexican Ambassador Miguel Ruíz-Cabañas Izquierdo.
“We were unanimous on our choice of the Ambassador and in our thanks to the Ambassador of Mexico who has held this presidency for the past two years”, Giro stated. “At 50 years on from its foundation, IILA continues to be a resource for our country in its economic outreach to Latin America. It is now time to redefine priorities and implement them. I am certain that under the guidance of Stephanie Hochstetter Skinner-Klée and the other vice-presidents — newly elected Ambassador of Brazil Ricardo Neiva Tavares and Ambassador of Ecuador Juan Fernando Holguín Flores — we will be able to complete this task”, Giro concluded.
