Italy’s Cooperation service allocates emergency aid for Northern Syria

As part of Italy’s commitment to foster the Syrian population, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Emanuela Del Re, has arranged for another package of emergency contributions worth 2.5 million euros to finance the humanitarian emergency situations in Northern Syria.

Thanks to Italy’s emergency contribution of 1.5 million euros to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), relief supplies will be distributed to the civilian population in the Provinces of Idlib, Aleppo and Hama.

In addition, a 1-million-euro contribution will be allocated to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to safeguard and improve the living conditions of women and their families in the Raqqa Governorate.

A further 500,000-euro contribution to the World Food Program (WFP) will be approved in the upcoming days to deal with the Country’s nutritional emergencies.
