Deputy Minister Marina Sereni presided over the sixth annual meeting of the Joint Committee for Development Cooperation, also attended by the Director General for Development Cooperation, Fabio Cassese and the Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, Luca Maestripieri. Representatives from other Authorities in charge of the matters under discussion also took part in the meeting.
During the meeting, decisions were made on certain initiatives in Iraq, Syria and Tunisia implementing political commitments previously taken on by the government, on initiatives where deferral could result in delays in cooperation actions, on amendments to previous instruments, on decisions to make appointments for the foreign Italian Agency for Development Cooperation offices in Burkina Faso, Niger and Pakistan and on opinions regarding Cassa Depositi e Prestiti initiatives using its own resources.
More specifically, the Committee approved the resolution on the “Procedures to grant and manage loans in accordance with article 27, paragraph 3, letter a) of law no. 125/2014” in implementation of the Decree of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in association with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, of 3 March 2022.
Certain disclosure statements were also illustrated by the Directorate General for Development Cooperation, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and the Directorate General for Italians abroad and migration policies.
