The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation firmly condemns the airstrikes of 31 March on civilian targets in Deir al-Asafir, a suburb of Damascus, presumably carried out by forces of al-Assad’s regime, which killed dozens of civilians, including women and children.
The Foreign Ministry calls on all parties concerned to comply with the basic provisions of international law, of the agreements on the cessation of hostilities, as well as of the UN Security Council Resolution 2254.
The Ministry urges all parties to cease all attacks on the civilian population and to pursue with staunch determination a political solution to the Syrian crisis.
