Lebanon – The “Jezzine Hub” opens its doors to Lebanese youth

The “Jezzine Hub” youth club opened in Jezzine, in south Lebanon, on 31 July. The club was inaugurated by Oxfam International, Development for People and Nature Association (DPNA) and the Union of the Municipalities of Jezzine (UMJ). The inauguration ceremony was followed by a workshop on social innovation and activities with local associations. The club is part of the project financed by the European Union and Italian Development Cooperation entitled “Yalla Ya ShabHUB: human development, social innovation and support to youth-run businesses in Jezzine, in South Lebanon”.

The initiative aims to promote the active participation of Lebanese youths in local social, economic and political life with a view to developing sustainable and innovative human development processes. The “Jezzine Hub” constitutes a centre in which young people, associations, private companies and local authorities can meet and find the competencies, resources and opportunities necessary to implement local development strategies.
