Astana – Mogol teaches pop music at university

Italian singer-songwriter Mogol is in Kazakhstan to give a series of lessons on pop music to the students of the University of the Arts, on an invitation from violinist Aiman Musakhodzhaeva, director of the Kazakh academy of “Shabyt” music with the support of the Italian embassy in Astana. Through next Monday, Mogol, joined by pianist Giuseppe Barbera and signer Son Pascal, will teach 60 students and professors the fundamentals of pop music, which will conclude with a concert given by the students. The project is the fruit of the embassy’s efforts, sponsored by Italian firms, to at “attract Italy’s attention to Kazakhstan” by creating a bridge between EXPO Milano 2015 and the upcoming EXPO Astana 2017.
