Italy has approved a one-million-EUR emergency contribution for humanitarian interventions in Syria. The contribution falls within the overall 18-million-EURO response to the Syrian crisis Italy announced for 2015.
The funds will be used to sustain a World Food Program project entitled “Emergency Food Assistance to People Affected by Unrest in Syria” within the framework of the United Nations’ “Syria Response Plan 2015”.
Within the same context of aid to the Syrian people, a shipment of goods left the port of Genoa recently for Amman – concrete sign of solidarity and concern for the people suffering the effects of the Syrian crisis and in line with our previous interventions.
