The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation commends the confidence granted by the Somali Parliament to the new government led by Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke. In expressing deep appreciation for the new government’s stated intention to meet the goals and deadlines agreed with the international community for the implementation of institutional reforms, Italy assures the Somali government of its friendship and willingness to cooperate and support efforts on behalf of the legitimate aspirations of the Somali people.
It is the hope of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation that the new Somali government is prompt and vigorous in resuming the previously launched reform process, collaborating with other institutions within a framework of inclusiveness and political stability.
