USA – Caravaggio: Masterpieces from the Galleria Borghese

The Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles will host an interview with Davide Gasparotto, senior curator of paintings at the Getty Museum, on 11 January. He will present the Caravaggio exhibition:  Masterpieces from the Galleria Borghese, featuring three Caravaggio masterpieces from the renowned Galleria Borghese in Rome, which will run until 18 February at the Getty Center.
Davide Gasparotto, who was born in Bassano del Grappa, studied the history of art and classical archaeology at the University of Pisa, and art appreciation history at the Scuola Normale Superiore.
He was curator at the National Gallery in Parma for 12 years, Paul Mellon Visiting Senior Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts at the National Gallery in Washington, D.C. (2007), and Andrew W. Mellon Fellow with the Metropolitan Museum of Art where he was a researcher on 16th century Italian decorative arts from 2011 to 2012. He was appointed director of the Galleria Estense in Modena in September 2012.
He has written a number of books on 16th to 18th century art from Tuscany, Veneto, Emilia and Lombardy.
