The 22nd International Archaeological Cinema Festival, co-sponsored by the Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade, opened in the Serbian capital. In this edition, Italy presents four documentaries made available by the Italian Cultural Institute in association with the RAM Film Festival of the Fondazione Museo Civico of Rovereto.
The Festival opened with the documentary titled “Langobardi Alboino e Romans” (2021) by Simone Vrech, an innovative docufilm on the world of the Longobards which, through a mix of cinema and historical and archaeological documentary, tells the story of King Alboin. The screening continued with “Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli. Scrigno di civiltà” (2021) by Laura Pintus, in which the museum director, Paolo Giulierini, shows to the camera of the RAI 2 TV news show the jewels of the world’s most important classical archaeology museum, including the famous mosaic of Alexander, found in Pompei in the 1800s. The last documentaries screened were: “Etiopia. ‘Lontano’ lungo il fiume” (2021) by Lucio Rosa and “Agalma” (2020) by Doriana Monaco.
All the documentaries were screened in the original Italian version, with subtitles in Serbian.
