Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi had a telephone conversation about the Timoshenko case today with his Polish counterpart, Radoslaw Sikorski.
Minister Terzi told the Polish Foreign Minister that he had summoned the Ukrainian Ambassador to the Foreign Ministry in Rome.He had informed the Ambassador of the strong concerns felt by the Italian Parliament and public opinion over the situation of the former Prime Minister of Ukraine.
The two Foreign Ministers both expressed the hope that encouraging signals will emerge from Kiev as to the Ukrainian authorities’ commitment to implement the principles of democracy and the rule of law.
