The Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Maria Tripodi, delegated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, attended the presentation at the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) of the OICE report on the presence of engineering, architectural and technical economic consulting organizations abroad.
The Undersecretary pointed out that the foreign turnover of engineering and architectural organizations in Italy accounted for almost 50% of the sector’s turnover in 2021. The Undersecretary said: “This shows that internationalisation is an essential development opportunity for enterprises in the sector”. He added that this is the exact reason for the close collaboration between the Farnesina and OICE which, with the chain of member companies, participates in bilateral economic partnership initiatives with strategic Countries, such as business forums, country presentations and sector missions, aimed at the internationalisation of the Italian economic system.
In the context of the crisis characterised by the aggression against Ukraine, the Ministry has also implemented an initiative that, by involving trade associations, has made it possible to identify alternative supply markets for a total of 19 critical raw materials that previously came from the Countries involved in the conflict, thus avoiding interruptions to our production plants.
The Undersecretary said: “At the same time, we are exploring the preparation of a special support instrument that will enable our excellences in the infrastructure sector to participate with even greater motivation in the ambitious modernisation programmes launched by many partner Countries.”
The Undersecretary concluded by reaffirming the Farnesina’s commitment to the growth of our enterprises abroad through a daily support action, modulated on the real needs of our productive fabric.
