Fintech

Fintech

The fintech sector is one of the most dynamic drivers of innovation in Italy. In recent years, a number of significant business success stories have emerged, combining advanced technological expertise, entrepreneurial creativity and a deep understanding of financial markets. It is no coincidence that some startups in the fintech sector have gone on to become unicorns.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation plays a key role in supporting the internationalisation of Italian fintech startups and in strengthening Italy’s attractiveness as a hub for innovative investment.

Through its diplomatic network, its offices abroad and coordination with the Country System, MAECI and Office IV of the DGCE support fintech companies through:

  • international promotion initiatives and participation in leading global sector events;
  • facilitation of contacts with foreign investors, venture capital funds and international corporations;
  • support in entering new markets;
  • promotion of Italy’s innovation ecosystem among foreign institutional and financial stakeholders.

The Ministry is also committed to attracting foreign investment to Italy’s fintech ecosystem by promoting the country as a competitive, well-regulated environment offering significant opportunities. Cooperation with other countries, international financial institutions and multilateral organisations helps create favourable conditions for startup growth and the development of strategic partnerships.
