Directorate General for Development Cooperation

Name Directorate General for Development Cooperation
Competence and Tasks The Directorate General for Development Cooperation (DGCS) is the central body responsible for defining, coordinating, and directing international development cooperation policies. As part of cooperation governance, the DGCS formulates strategic and preparatory guidelines for the implementation of Italian sustainable development initiatives, both bilaterally and multilaterally, and oversees the development of the Three-Year Programming and Policy Document, which is the framework for the entire Italian cooperation system in accordance with current legislation.
