Competence and tasks The Directorate General for Resources and Training is responsible for the following tasks:
a) ensures the planning and consistency of human and financial resources management;
b) promotes organizational innovation and the streamlining and simplification of regulations and administrative procedures;
c) oversees the organization of the Ministry’s central offices and the offices abroad;
d) draws up the budget and deals with the strategic allocation of financial resources;
e) ensures the fulfilment of statistics procedures falling within the Ministry’s competence;
f) deals with the recruitment, management, and movement of staff;
g) promotes the implementation of staff policies for equal opportunities and inclusion;
h) deals with the payment of remuneration to the staff and provides reimbursement for travel and transportation costs;
i) defines remuneration for the staff working abroad, as well as allowances and benefits;
l) develops proposals for legislative and regulatory measures concerning staff and administration;
m) handles staff disputes and conducts disciplinary proceedings;
n) manages labour relations and supplementary collective bargaining;
o) provides training and professional development for the Foreign Ministry’s staff, operating jointly with the National School of Administration to follow the preparation of those wishing to enter the diplomatic career.
