Massimo Dell’Utri

Sottosegretario di Stato Massimo Dell'Utri

Born in Caltanissetta on 14 August 1966

He graduated in Law from the University of Palermo in 1989 with honours (110/110 cum laude), with a dissertation entitled “The enforcement of judgments against Public Administration”.

In 1991 he obtained a postgraduate specialisation in Regional Law and Local Authorities Law, subsequently commencing his legal practice in the following year. Over the course of his career, he has dealt with complex legal issues in both civil law and administrative law.

Admitted to the Bar Association of Caltanissetta in 1992 and to the Roll of Advocates entitled to plead before the Court of Cassation in 2004, he served as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of IRFIS – Sicilian Mediocredito, part of the UniCredit Group.

2005–2007: Member of the Judicial Council of the District of the Court of Appeal of Caltanissetta.

2011–2014: Chairman of the Board of Directors of AGS Control S.p.A. (a wholly-owned company of AGEA).

2012–2017: Vice-President of the Union of Bar Associations of Sicily, subsequently serving as President from 2017 to 2019.

2018–2019: Sole Director of Sicilia Digitale S.p.A. (a wholly-owned company of the Sicilian Region).

Having developed his political background in the 1980s within the youth wing of the Christian Democrats, he is Regional Coordinator of the party “Noi Moderati”, led by Maurizio Lupi, for which he also stood as a candidate in the 2024 European Parliament elections, obtaining over 69,000 preference votes.

On 22 April 2026, Dell’Utri was appointed by the Meloni Government as Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, succeeding the resigning Giorgio Silli.
