Offices working directly in cooperation with the Minister’s Cabinet

The Office for Relations with Parliament has the following responsibilities. It assists the Minister and Undersecretaries of State in their parliamentary work; it follows all parliament’s supervisory and policy acts concerning the Ministry; it is responsible for drafting replies to acts of parliamentary scrutiny; it follows the parliamentary process of legislative and regulatory provisions initiated by or of interest to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; it guarantees contacts with Members of Parliament are maintained.

Legislative Office: this office is responsible for processing legislative and regulatory provisions initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, guaranteeing the quality of the legal language used, the analysis of the feasibility of the norms introduced and the streamlining and simplification of the legislation; it fulfils procedural obligations for their approval and promulgation; it analyses provisions submitted to the Council of Ministers and prepares the documentation required; it scrutinizes legislative provisions proposed by Parliament as well as legislation and regulations presented by other ministries; it provides legal counselling on matters of internal law and carries out all other functions established by law.
