The “Made in Italy” brand for leather-goods, furnishings and museum showcases is seeking new market opportunities in France, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). On 23 January our Embassy in Paris organised a reception in collaboration with Luxury Living, a Forli’-based company that produces goods for the Fendi, Kenzo, Loro Piana and Vladimir Kagan homeware lines. To coincide with the “Maison et Objet” trade fair in Paris, the splendid salons of the Hotel de La Rochefoucauld-Doudeauville were given a contemporary makeover, with the historic settings complemented by products from the Fendi Casa line.
On 25 January, the Embassy hosted a reception organised in collaboration with Goppion, a world-leading Milanese manufacturer of museum showcases. Goppion is currently working on the cases for the Louvre’s new wing dedicated to Islamic art. In the presence of a large audience representing France’s most important museums, architecture practices and the specialist press, Goppion’s innovative “Q System” was introduced. The new case donated by Goppion to the Italian Embassy to house Medardo Rosso’s “L’enfant malade” was also unveiled.
On 2 February came a reception organised in collaboration with the Italian Union for the Leather and Tanning Industry (UNIC) to present the new leather colours and trends for summer 2013. Guests included buyers from the main French companies in the sector and the specialist press. During the evening, staged in the run-up to the ANTEPRIMA trade show in Milan (MICO, Fieramilanocity, 7-8 February 2012), five creations by students from the IUAV University in Venice were presented.
